2009 has been a really great year so far! In February, I participated in the
Reading Olympics at my school. The reading Olympics lasted for a month, and then the winners were awarded medals for
the number of minutes that were spent reading. Well, I'm proud to say that I received a gold medal for having over 1200
minutes of reading time! I'm so proud of myself! In fact, I'm doing so well in reading that I'm already working
on the second grade word list! That's pretty good for a kinergartener, huh? :-) I LOVE reading!
March was pretty uneventful. So was April, other than my 6th birthday!
Unfortunately, my birthday wasn't so good for me, as I was sick with the stomach flu that day. Mom even had to reschedule
mine and Natalie's birthday party because the family was sick. That whole week of my birthday was pretty much a completel
bummer!
The month of May has been great so far! It started out with the arrival of
my new baby sister Danielle! She was born here at our house, and I had really wanted to watch her be born, but she was
born at night, and so I was asleep during her birth. But Dad got me up right after she was born so that we could meet
her! I'm totally loving having her around! She's really cute! I love holding her and helping Mom with her
so that Mom can get little things accomplished around the house. And she doesn't cry too much either, so that's nice. :-)
With the sumer coming up, I'm looking forward to visits from Grandma and uncle from
IN, Grandpa from FL and aunt and uncle from SC. They all want to see us. It'll be fun to have them come out.
Other than family visiting, the sumer should be pretty low key. And I'll be getting ready for first grade next year!!
